Seth Rose for County Council
Seth was born in Charleston, WV and was raised in South Florida by his mother Gigi, an executive secretary, and his aunt Nicki, a public school teacher. From an early age they instilled in Seth a driving work ethic and a desire to help others. Though not heavily recruited out of high school, Seth received a tennis scholarship to the University of South Carolina where he excelled both on and off the tennis court. Through hard work, Seth transformed himself into one of the nation's top collegiate singles players and one of only six All-American singles selections in Gamecock history. Seth also distinguished himself in the classroom by earning Dean’s List honors and in the university community by serving as a Student Government representative for Gamecock athletes.
After receiving a degree in Psychology, with a cognate in Criminal Justice, Seth attended the University of South Carolina School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate. Since graduating from law school, Seth has pursued his desire to help others through his work as a Richland County Prosecutor. Seth and his wife Anna, a pharmacist specializing in geriatrics, reside in Shandon and are members of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Seth has taken active steps to improve his neighborhood and community by serving on the Shandon Neighborhood Council and by volunteering his time as a Special Olympics tennis coach. Seth is also a member of the Gills Creek Watershed Association, Five Points Association, and the Columbia Rotary Club.
