Hello! My name is Seth Rose. I have spent the past few years as a Richland County Prosecutor helping crime victims seek justice through the criminal court system. As a State Prosecutor, I have served daily on the front line in the war against crime in our communities, and I have prosecuted numerous cases ranging from DUI to murder.

Like many of you, I am concerned about the continued rise in crime and unemployment rates in Richland County, and I am frustrated by the lack of leadership in these and other areas. I believe that the time is now for County Council District 5 to have new life, new vision, and new leadership, and so I have decided to run for County Council and give the tax paying citizens of Richland County a true choice in this election!

As your Richland County Councilman, I will work tirelessly to stop wasteful spending on misguided projects and failed efforts and to make sure that our hard-earned taxpayer dollars are devoted to meaningful projects that will improve our quality of life—fighting crime, improving our schools, fixing the broken transportation system, and creating jobs. I will work to ensure that we have the best possible vital services and that we preserve our natural resources, and I will demand that we have responsible development.

Most importantly, because our district is located within the City, we must elect leaders who realize that we are best served when Richland County and the City of Columbia work together for the common good, rather than electing those who claim this cannot be done. When elected, I promise to encourage and usher in a NEW ERA of intergovernmental cooperation.

As your new voice on County Council, I will listen to YOU, stand up for your interests, and fight to keep your hard-earned tax dollars from being squandered on failed efforts. I will finally give you, the citizens of Richland County District 5, leadership that will LISTEN, and the good, solid representation you deserve!
